Cindy Sherman, MA, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor, High School Guidance Counselor and Special Education Teacher. She has dedicated her life to counseling adolescents, individuals, couples and families help overcome their life challenges with compassion and professional guidance .
For her adolescent clients, Cindy offers a safe and supportive environment, where they are able to explore and create new ways of thinking and responding to stress. She partners with her adult clients as they explore those issues that may be preventing them from the quality of life that they deserve. Her specialties include adolescent counseling, individual and couples counseling, gender identity issues and issues related to trauma, depression, anxiety and other life stressors.
Cindy utilizes a combination of humanistic, cognitive and existential therapies in order to provide an encouraging, empowering and supportive therapeutic environment. Every client is treated with respect, dignity and positive regard.
Cindy holds a Master of Arts Degree from Montclair State University, and is licensed by the State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners of the State of New Jersey. Professional affiliations include the American Counseling Association, the Essex County Psychotherapists Group and the New Jersey Coalition for Bullying Awareness and Prevention.
