When ‘I’ is replaced by ‘WE’ even ILLNESS becomes WELLNESS - SS

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C.) licensed by the State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners of The State of New Jersey. I earned my Master’s Degree (M.A.) in Professional Counseling and also obtained an Education Specialist degree (Ed.S.) in Mental Health Counseling from Seton Hall University. Having many years of professional experience and working in diverse settings, I am fully equipped to handle a broad range of mental health needs.

I have over seven years of experience serving in a non-profit agency that aids children and families within our community who struggles with depression, anxiety, social issues, LGBTQIA, child abuse and neglect. I also have over three of years experience serving as a Crisis Counselor in the emergency room at Hackensack Meridian Health Mountainside Medical Center. During this time, I worked with children, adolescents, individuals, couples and families with issues which were acute in various ranges from substance abuse, depression, trauma, infidelity, marital conflict and higher chronic levels of mental illness such as psychosis. I am currently employed within Hackensack Meridian Health Mountainside Medical Center where I counsel adolescents, adults, couples and geriatric patients who are referred by their primary care provider for different ranges of mental health needs. During this time, I also spend teaching Doctors & Residents how to pick up signs of depression and other mental health needs which may come up in their visit.

Life - it’s the one thing we try to make better each and every day! But it’s not that easy knowing how to handle difficult situations that make us take TWO steps forward and ONE step back! I provide clients with a safe, supportive, caring and most importantly, a non-judgmental environment that is essential to treatment. Very often, people mention the expression "we were given two ears and one mouth for a reason”, and that phrase could not be more true in what I believe in. I listen to understand your story first - to stay present - and to provide support, which is directly dedicated to YOU. In addition to learning your narrative, my goal is to teach clients healthy behaviors, encourage them to make constructive changes, all while building skills and knowledge to help manage life's stressors and triggers.

I look forward to helping you achieve your goals!
