Ami C. Lim, MD, is a psychiatrist with over 20 years experience in private practice. A graduate of New York State Psychiatric Institute of Columbia University where she was chief resident in her last year of training, she also completed a fellowship in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Her academic affiliations included an instructor position at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a Visiting Professor position at Columbia Presbyterian College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Lim's private practice has focused on psychopharmacologic interventions and specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD and bipolar disorders in all their various manifestations. Her special interest lies in women's issues particularly involving psychiatric disorders related to the postpartum, perimenopausal and menopausal periods. She builds a strong therapeutic relationship with her patients that is based on her expertise plus respect, support and compassion for their needs.
Dr. Lim is currently affiliated with Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and is Medical Director of the Mental Health Association of Essex County. She is also an associate at Moreines and Goldman PC in Westfield, NJ. She has been involved in other practice settings such as crisis intervention, inpatient and outpatient treatment and does pro bono work in selected cases.
