Katherine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New Jersey. She graduated with her Masters Degree in Social Work from The Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. Prior to joining RPA, Katherine worked in the foster care and adoption system providing individual and family therapy to children and adolescents. Katherine obtained a certification as an adoption counselor through Rutgers University as well as a certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She uses both of these certifications and her previous experience by applying them in strategic ways to her practice to help individuals and families achieve optimal growth and empowerment.
Katherine is experienced in helping children, adolescents and young adults navigate their specific life stage as well as their role within their family. She formulates her treatment approach based on the unique needs of the individual in a collaborative fashion. She believes that success in treatment partly comes from the commitment and motivation of the client. Some of the approaches utilized include strength-based, family systems, CBT, and solution-focused with the goal of creating stability, harmony, and positive coping skills for her clients. Her specialties include anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, trauma, grief, loss, abuse, attachment issues, self-esteem, and crisis intervention.
Her goal is to value each person’s time and commitment in his or her therapeutic journey no matter how big or small the issue may seem. Her approachable nature and ability to adapt and listen will provide a safe space throughout your time with her
