Steven obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the College of Staten Island. With his degree, Steven knew he wanted to help those struggling with mental health issues. Steven then entered into the accelerated bachelor’s degree of Nursing at NYU. While in nursing school he knew he wanted to focus his career in the field of psychiatry. After graduation, he worked on an inpatient psychiatric unit in Staten Island. While there, Steven gained ample knowledge of the field and how to care for those with mental illness. Steven decided he wanted to return to school to advance his knowledge and skills in treating those with mental illness. While continuing to work as an RN, he attended Monmouth University for his psychiatry mental health nurse practitioner degree. He then worked in a psychiatric private practice, where he gained valuable knowledge in treating children and adolescents with mental health concerns. Steven has also worked for schools administering threat assessments for their students. In addition to his well-rounded background in psychiatry, Steven's empathy and compassion for his patients are the foundation of his success.
